Transitioning to 3rd Grade
Jordan/Jackson's Multipurpose Room

This meeting is designed to provide families with an introduction to the Jordan/Jackson:

- Schedule
- Curriculum
- Student Experience
- School Goals and Objectives

- Parents/Guardians are the target audience for this presentation.

We understand that this is a busy time of year and not all families will be able to attend the in-person meeting. Therefore, a recorded version of this presentation will be sent to all families after the meeting. In addition, there will be a Google Form included with that recorded presentation so that families can submit questions about the overall transition.

If you are able to attend, you will be able to enter the building through doors 1 and 5. Please note that the visitor’s entrance will be closed at that time. Once you enter the building, staff will direct you to the Multipurpose room.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT LESSON FOR 4TH AND 5TH GRADE STUDENTS

During the period of May 23 through May 31, our fourth and fifth grade students will participate in a lesson on growth and development taught by our physical education and health teachers. The students will watch a film discussing growth and developmental changes. The boys will be taught by Mr. Adam Lambert and Mr. Matthew Chase, while Ms. Jennifer Memoli will teach the girls.

Under Massachusetts law and the Mansfield Public School Committee Policy, you may exempt your child from any portion of the curriculum that primarily involves human sexuality education or human sexuality issues. Please send a letter to request an exemption for your child to Principal Nieratko at jjnews@mansfieldschools.com. Students who are exempt from the curriculum will not be penalized and will be provided with another assignment.

Below are a few pamphlets you may want to review with your student prior to May 23.
