Welcome to our class web page. We use this page to keep students and parents updated on what is going on in the classrooms. You will find test dates and upcoming classroom event dates. 

We want to welcome the new third graders to Jordan Jackson. We look forward to getting to know each of the students and their families.

WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE!

Mrs. Chiappone and Mrs. Ewick team teach their third grade classes.

Mrs. Chiappone teaches math, science and social studies to both classes. Mrs. Ewick teaches Reading and Writing to both classes.

Social Studies

In Social Studies we are studying Massachusetts and symbols. We will go onto study land forms, climate, famous people and locations, Revolutionary War, Early Colonies, regions, and New England.

We will be working on number sense, multiplication, division, fractions and measurement. Practicing
your math facts nightly are expected. Using the the websites given,playing math games, and using flash cards are also a great resource to use.

Mondays: ELA and math

Tuesdays: ELA and math

Wednesday: ELA and math

Thursdays: ELA and math

Fridays : Read over the weekend

Each night you should read at least 20 minutes. Please initial the agenda book every night, so that we know that you've seen what's assigned.

Science
science

We will be studying the water cycle, phases of the moon, planets and roles of living things. There will be an in school project investigating the planets. We will create planet cards and learn how to design a PowerPoint presentation.

Reading and Writing

Reading is an amazing way to travel and explore. It takes you to places real and fantasy, as well as expands your vocabulary. Choosing a Just Right Book is important and can make what you are reading even more interesting. Choosing different Genres makes reading more exciting.Creative Writing is a fun way to express yourself. Keeping a journal,diary or log of your own thoughts can be fun, but also a great way to record your ideas and improve your spelling.
